Deposit
All wedding cakes require a $100 retainer deposit on the general cake order to ‘hold the date.’ The remaining balance is due 15 business days prior to the wedding date.

Cake Consultation
We require that all wedding cake designs have an initial cake consultation. This consultation may be as long or as short as you desire; however, your signature on our wedding agreement and understanding is required. At the consultation, we would be happy to review design ideas, provide samples for tasting, and discuss any personal recipe needs you have, such as allergies or duplicating the taste of Aunt Merle’s homemade fruitcake. Your consultation is not limited to one visit – in fact, two to three visits may be required to ensure your cake is just what you want.

Wedding Cakes – 75 Servings and Smaller
We are more than happy to service your wedding regardless of the cake size! For wedding cakes that serve fewer than 75, we prefer to handle the cake as a “party cake.” In this circumstance, the cake will be priced based on a lower cost per-serving basis, and a consultation will not be necessary. Delivery of the cake can be accommodated for a nominal free. Please call us to discuss this in further detail.

Changes to the Cake Design after the Consultation
You may change almost anything up to three weeks before the wedding. If you elect to have gum-paste flowers, note that design changes can only be made two months prior to the event date. Please, no changes in size or design after the three-week deadline.

Delivery
Delivery and setup of your cake is a flat rate $50 within the Raleigh / Cary / Apex / Chapel Hill / Durham area. If your reception location is outside of this area, your delivery fee will be provided to you at the time of your consultation.

Inclement Weather/Environmental Emergencies
As long as we have electricity, we will work to complete your order as planned. If we are unable to complete your wedding cake due to weather or other emergencies that are not within our control, we will call you as soon as possible to let you know. Additionally, if weather or other emergencies preclude us from delivering your cake, we will call you to discuss options. However, in any situations not within our control, all monies paid, excluding your 20% deposit, shall be refunded if your cake is not delivered. If you reschedule delivery to a new date and/or location, no monies will be refunded.

Materials, Cake Stands, Fountains, etc.
For cakes requiring a significant amount of equipment, an equipment deposit is required to cover the cost of any items not returned/damaged during the event. Please return, at your earliest convenience, but no later than Wednesday after the wedding, all of the pieces used in the assembling of your cake (metal, plastic, fabric, Styrofoam, wood, etc). Any materials not returned by you or returned damaged will be deducted from the initial retainer and/or equipment deposit.

Fresh Floral
We recommend that you consider adding inexpensive, fresh greenery around the base of your cake. Your florist or caterer will be able to help you choose the appropriate foliage.

If you are using fresh flowers on your cake, the florist is responsible for the flowers and making sure that the flowers and foliage are safe to place on an edible cake. It is important to note that some flowers and foliage are not safe to use on a cake, so use caution when discussing options with your florist.

If you would like us to place the fresh flowers on the cake, you must make arrangements, in advance, with your florist and have them contact us for coordination. If you have an excessive number of flowers to be placed on your cake, there will be a $20 per tier fee for this service from Cinda’s Creative Cakes, plus the additional cost of the flowers billed to you by your florist.

Cancellation Policy
If your order is canceled after 90 days before the scheduled wedding date, your retainer will not be refunded. If you cancel prior to the 90 days, your retainer will be refunded, minus $20 to cover the cost of sample cakes provided during the consultation.

Anniversary Cake
Because your beautiful wedding cake does not freeze well for all home refrigerators, we will be happy to give you a fresh replica of the top of your cake on your one-year anniversary! Two weeks prior to your anniversary, please contact us for a complimentary, 6” round cake. We do not ship anniversary cakes; however, you are welcome to schedule your anniversary cake at your convenience, even if it’s not around your actual anniversary.
